I would like to join a Work group. How do I do that? Why should I join a Work Group?
As I’ve mentioned before, an excellent way to increase your engagement and impact within the Safer Buildings Coalition is by participating in one of our active Work Groups. These are collaborative teams of members working together to advance our mission through leadership in policy, education, and advocacy.
Work Groups are the heartbeat of SBC’s impact. Members consistently tell us this is where they form the strongest professional relationships. Taking part can help your organization in meaningful ways:
- Build close relationships and unlock valuable networking opportunities
- Demonstrate your company’s expertise and leadership
- Gain insights from peers across the industry in a collaborative setting

Provides expert guidance on public policy, legislation, and regulations that affect in-building public safety communications—from the federal to the local level.

Engages directly with code development bodies (e.g., NFPA, ICC), drafts formal proposals and comments, and supports the integration of RF communication needs into model building and fire codes.

Focuses on understanding and improving the member experience, enhancing recruitment, engagement, and retention through strategic insights and measurable value delivery.
🔹 School Safety Work Group
Collaborates with industry, education stakeholders, and public safety professionals to promote improved communication systems and emergency responsiveness in K-12 and higher education buildings.
